World Intellectual Property Day - IP and SMEs Webinar

Small and medium-sized enterprises take center stage at this year’s celebration of World Intellectual Property Day. The Nigerian Association of Teachers & Researchers in Intellectual Property (NATRIP) and World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO Nigeria) present a webinar to celebrate the World Intellectual Property Day!

Mrs. Nkem Itanyi, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a PhD candidate at Queens University Belfast Law School will be among the moderators of the event.

"SMEs are the engines, the unsung heroes of our economy. And yet for many of them, there is still a lack of knowledge about how IP can help them translate their ideas into products, and how IP can be a powerful tool for them to not just survive, but to also compete and grow,"  - Daren Tang (WIPO Director General)

The World Intellectual Property Day 2021 shines a light on the critical role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the economy and how they can use intellectual property (IP) rights to build stronger, more competitive and resilient businesses.

The webinar starts at 2PM (WAT) today (April 29 2021). Interested individuals are to register here. Topics to be discussed includes:

  • Intersection between different IPRs and SMEs.
  • Pratical Experience of SMEs with IP in the Marketplace.
  • WIPO services for SMEs.
