Class of 2006 Celebrates 20th Anniversary with “Light Up the Law Faculty” Homecoming

As part of activities marking the 20th anniversary of their graduation, members of the Class of 2006 paid a memorable homecoming visit to the Faculty on 21 August under the theme, “Light Up the Law Faculty.” The activities commenced with a courtesy visit to the Dean’s Office, where the Dean, Professor Obiajulu Nnamuchi, together with other lecturers, warmly received the alumni and welcomed them back to the Faculty.

A major highlight of the visit was an interactive session titled “The Future of Lawyers in the New World of Artificial Intelligence.” During the session, the alumni engaged meaningfully with the students, sharing valuable professional insights, practical experiences and guidance on navigating the rapidly evolving legal profession. They also made significant pledges in support of the continued development of the Faculty and the welfare of its students.

The alumni further reminisced about their years on campus and encouraged the entire Faculty community to preserve its enduring tradition of excellence and uphold the high standards for which it is renowned.

They also paid special tribute to members of the Faculty who had played significant roles in shaping their academic and professional journeys. A particularly memorable moment was the standing ovation accorded to Professor E. U. Onyeabor in recognition of his profound and lasting impact on the class.

The visit held special significance for the Faculty, as our colleague, Associate Professor Collins Ajibo, is a distinguished member of the Class of 2006.
